What can I say? Staging this home was a dream! From my first visit with the very engaging and knowledgeable owner to the final day of staging, the entire process was such a pleasure. Why? Because the owner knew from the beginning that staging this home would help complete the vision that he had for it. For maximum appeal, staging adds the inviting touches that allow potential buyers to mentally "move in" to a home when they're viewing it.
This is a special property ~ Oregon's first "gut-rehab" LEED Platinum home. It's as Green as can be! I'll do another post on more "Green" features of this home, but this post is to show a few Before & After photos. This home was built in 1957, but was taken down to the framing for this complete "gut rehab" which resulted in a two-level ranch home with an appealing modern design by Paolo Design Group in Portland. Our team got busy and staged this home to help highlight it's many Green features!

Maureen, wow! This is simply stunning. You gave this beautiful space such warmth. The designers made the structure into a show piece, but you made it a home. It really looks so inviting...great work!
double WOW from me!!! What expertise you have at what you do!! WOW WOW!
Maureen ~ Fantastic! I like how you kept your staging in line with the Green idea of this house.
Peg ~ as you said, this home really is a showpiece ~ the architect and the owner had such a clear vision. I'm glad to hear that you found it inviting and hope that potential buyers do too. Today is the first Brokers' Tour.
Karen ~ Thank you for the double endorsement ... coming from you it means a lot my friend!
Kathy ~ It was really fun to use some "green" staging ideas when working in this home and it showed me that there are ways to incorporate natural elements into all home staging projects. What a great eye-opener!
Oh my word. This is an incredible example of what staging is all about! You hit several home runs, Maureen.
Congratulations. Your post is being featured in the group Staging Before & After Pictures.
Kathy
Hello Maureen, very nice work indeed! I really like your choice of colors. Very nice..
Maureen - Love the "green" touches in your staging like the organic cooking book in the kitchen. That attention to detail is what really makes a difference! Beautiful work -- hope it brings in a quick sale as well!
Thanks for sharing these photos with us, Maureen! Your work is always inspiring.
Maureen...you hit it out of the ballpark AGAIN! No wonder the owner is pleased. Your attention to details is perfection! Anxious to see more.
Hi Maureen, The fireplace is to die for. Your staging is impeccable, just perfect! Thanks for posting.
Kathy ~ thanks for such a nice compliment! I wish all the homes I stage were this impeccably built.
Gary ~ it felt right to use softer more natural colors in this home (except for the child's bedroom where it's very bright).
Margaret ~ someone living in a home this green would use an organic cookbook for sure! The bread and pasta are real as well.
Diana ~ I'm glad you enjoyed the photos. It was an amazing home to work on!
Ginger ~ Thank you! I wanted to add more pics but didn't want the post to be too long ... so Part 2 will be coming up soon.
Cynthia ~ That fireplace is made of horizontal reclaimed granite pieces designed on-site at the granite bone yard by the architect. It creates a powerful focal point in the room doesn't it? The wood mantle was a reused piece of lumber the owner had wanted to use for years. The perfect marriage then occurred!
Maureen, You did a beautiful job. The house is just gorgeous.
Chrissie ~ Thanks for your kind words. It's a gorgeous home in a wonderful setting which includes a creek and lots of natural landscaping. The total package!
Maureen, Fabulous job, I can see why you enjoyed this project. I too love that fireplace.
Stunning Maureen! You have inspired me! Go Green Power!
Donna ~ Thank you ... that fireplace is stunning isn't it? It really makes a statement.
Cathy ~ Go Green -- glad this home inspired you!
That looks fantastic!!! I love your dining room table setting. Beautiful job!
Patsy ~ Thanks, your feedback is much appreciated! It was fun to use textures and eco-friendly materials on the table.
WOW fabulous colors and fabulous staging. This must have been a blast! Love the double placemats on the table and I ALWAYS love the pops of lime green.
Great job

Phyllis ~ Thank you for your enthusiastic reaction -- so nice to hear!
Beautiful! Your staging really highlights the "green" concept and brings warmth and coziness to the open space. Great job!
Maureen, How exciting to be in on such a great project! The staging meets your usual standard of "incredible" and I love the special touches that are in line with the green theme like the bamboo table runner and organic goodies in the kitchen. Well done!
Michelle ~ We really enjoyed incorporating aspects of "green" into the staging. Thanks for your feedback.
Liz ~ Thanks, you know there are so many ways that as stagers we can use more eco-friendly items. I'm sure you do that already but it's a process that has room for improvement for most of us!
Hi Maureen,
What a great post. I love seeing the BEFORE BEFORE's for the first time. I am so delighted to have been one of the people you invited to come help on this project. It was well worth the drive from Eugene! THANK YOU!
The home really turned out beautifully and I hope you are pleased with the final result!
Janis ~ THANK YOU for all of your wonderful help on this project, and especially for stepping in at the 11th hour ~ you did a great job and it wouldn't have turned out so well without your talent and expertise. Glad you enjoyed the "Before Befores" as I did too! Hope to collaborate again soon.
Maureen, great to see this house! Sorry we couldn't join you. Really looks great. Hope to see it in person some day - maybe on our tour of homes!
hi David ~ Thanks for dropping by. This home is included in the Oregon Ultimate Home Tour the last two weekends in April (18th-19th and 25th - 26th) from 10am to 5pm all 4 days -- free to the public, so I hope you can stop by to check it out. It's pretty much the ultimate in Green building practices, and beautifully designed by Paolo Design Group in Portland.
Gorgeous table settings Maureen, I don't always like the tables set, too busy, this is tasteful, serene and beautiful...no surprize. Good job.
Terrylynn ~ Many thanks! I don't set the tabletops often but doing this one was a good way to use some eco-friendly ideas.
Gorgeous staging, as ususal!
Tony and Libby ~ Thank you for your nice compliment! It's so nice to hear from local Realtors that you're believers in staging.
Beautiful "green" staging Maureen. I wanted to see it in the flesh over the weekend but ran out of time. Drat the luck! Gorgeous job as always. Kudos to you
Kate
Kate ~ thanks for your positive feedback, it's much appreciated. It may be on the tour of staged homes, stay tuned!
Maureen, I am behind the times - I just saw this... Had to tell you, though a little late, what a marvelous job you have done here. And what a great pallette you had to work with - that fireplace, truely breathtaking. Your staging set it off beautifully! The ecofriendly staging touches were fabulous and of course, renting furniture that is reused for other projects is, in and of itself, green! Kudos!
Joanne ~ thanks for your nice comments on this home. As a Live Green Live Smart trainer, your feedback is much appreciated! The fireplace is an artistic masterpiece. We found it a fun challenge to find and use "greener" ways to stage this LEED Platinum home. The owner had great news last week .... the home received special recognition as best remodeled home for 2009 from the Oregon Remodeling Association.
