This Ultra-Green home is included in the upcoming Oregon Ultimate Open House Tour to be held April 18-19 & 25-26. All of the homes in the tour are new construction or -- as in the case of this home -- totally remodeled.
This home was built in 1957 but was taken down to the frame and rebuilt to become Oregon's first "gut rehab" project and achieved LEED Platinum status. Here's some Before & After photos of the staging of this home:

M: This looks great. Nice to know that this is on the tour and you will get some exposure for your hard work. Great use of the alcove space in the corner of the living room. It is very warm and inviting.
Todd ~ Thanks for stopping by, appreciate your kind words. Yes, it was a lot of hard work, as you well know, to stage an entire house (8 rooms + 3 full bathrooms) ~ but well worth it if we reached our goal of making the home warm & inviting.
Hi Maureen, Great staging and what a cute house. What type of flooring was used in the second bedroom photo? Also I love that rug in the LR, did you purchase it recently? I use the brown/blue combination a lot.
lovely, my dear! If this was American Idol, and if I was Simon, I would give you a standing ovation, and your name would be Adam! :-)
Donna ~ Thanks -- That flooring in all the downstairs rooms is cork. It's a "green" choice and not many people know it, but it can be refinished as often as you like to keep it shiny. The rug in the LR is 100% wool and I like it too.
Karen ~ How funny you should say that! I just heard that Simon may be leaving the show :-( But anyway, I'm honored by your too kind comment!
Fantastic opportunity for you Maureen!! I love, love, love the rugs you used!!!!
Cathy ~ It was a really fun staging project. I'm liking those rugs too ~ thank you!
Hi Maureen,
What a fun project! You've really come up with some creative ideas. I especially like the "headboard" in the first bedroom and the contemporary artwork in the first living room. Thanks for sharing.
I'm with Karen - this deserves a standing ovation! Awesome job (as always, Maureen).
Congratulations. Your post is being featured in the group Home Staging Before & After Pictures.
Kathy
Maureen I love seeing more of your before and afters. Does your rental source also provide rugs? That's one of my biggest dilemmas lately. I want to add them but hesitate. I want the one in this "office". Great work again!
Maureen,
Awesome work. Great project for you to have under your belt, especially it being a rehabbed/LEED home. Love your use of color and refined use of accessories.
Susan ~ Since this home is so "Green" I wanted the staging to reflect the use of natural elements as much as possible. The woven headboard was used in the master bedroom because of it's texture and natural appearance. Both that piece and the square contemporary art in the living room are from Pier 1.
Kathy ~ Many thanks for the feature and for your comment!
Ginger ~ My own inventory includes a lot of rugs and I'm always on the lookout for ones I think will work well in staging.
Julea ~ This was such a fun project and one that I put a lot of time and effort into ... glad you like it!
Maureen: What a great showcase of your work! I'm sure the homes (well, you) will get plenty of WOW's from the lookers.
Aloha Maureen,
Lovely work! I particular like how the mirror frame in the master imitates the window frames. I also like the lines of the furniture with the window frames in the living room, very nicely done!
Peace,
Debra ~ The home is indeed the star of this project, but I really appreciate your nice words about the staging -- thanks!
Kimo ~ The look in this home's design is simple and clean, and I tried to mirror that in the staging .. thank you for noticing my efforts!
Love the pieces you used above bed, rug, and sofa!
Fabulous job, Maureen! Love the art piece from Pier 1 (I have a similar one and really like it). Also really like the natural textures throughout. Great job ~ let us know how the tour goes! I'm sure you'll receive overwhelming positive feedback.
Great work Maureen. I'd love to be able to see this house on the tour!
Lisa ~ Great minds find good stuff at Pier 1, don't we? :-) Since this is a LEED Platinum house, I used a lot of natural textures wherever possible, thanks for noticing.
Liz ~ Why not drive up and meet me over there one of the 4 days of the Ultimate Home Tour? Let me know if it works into your schedule!
Cindy ~ that woven piece has great texture and it's also made of wood ... so a natural element to go with the Green theme in this home, glad you noticed it!
Maureen~ It looks awesome!! I love the rugs too! Actually, I love it all :) Great job!!
Thanks Wendy ~ happy to hear that you liked it! One of the great things about AR is the nice support we receive here from colleagues we respect.
