Motivated Sellers in Tigard OR get a little Help from their Team

When you're planning to sell your Tigard or Portland-area home, nothing beats having a team of motivated sellers, a Realtor with aggressive marketing skills, and a professional home stager.

When our company provided a home staging consultation to these sellers, they had recently combined households and knew they had too much "stuff" for selling their home;  at just 946 sq ft, every inch was fully utilized in this Tigard, OR home.

We walked through their ranch-style home with their agent taking notes, and discussed options for dealing with excess furniture and miscellaneous items.  They decided to get a POD (Portable On Demand) Storage unit -- and it worked wonders!  I advised which pieces should stay, what to pack up, and how to arrange what was left to showcase the floor space in each room (as opposed to the "stuff" that potential buyers would find distracting).  With our "Action Plan" the sellers were able to stage their home using our tips and working with what they already had.

UPDATE:  This home SOLD in just 10 days!

This home had many good features that previously were hard to see due to all the excess furniture.

The family room had huge dark shelving units that overwhelmed the room; removing them created some nice breathing space ...

Maureen, that's something many of us don't think about- a staging consultation and the homeowner staging the home themselves. What a terrific transformation, great example of staging done right.

Debbie -- the home staging consultation is such a cost-effective service, and really gives the seller a Plan so they know where to concentrate their efforts.  Our clients just love this service and it's proven very successful.  Thanks so much for your feedback.

I had a call to do a 900sf duplex.  It is the strangest layout I've ever seen, it's also the smallest. Challenges, there's always challenges

Hard to believe this is the same place-wow!! The office is one huge transformation-great advise!!

Maureen, Wow, they really did a great job from your consult. Doesn't even look like the same home.

Cindy ~ we love taking on those challenges don't we?

Cathy ~ Yes they did a great job removing the excess stuff in the office, revealing the beautiful hardwood floors.

Donna ~ These sellers were very diligent to take care of everything on the list!

Hi Maureen,  So much better in the "after" photos.  What really stands out is the beautiful hardwood floors in several of the rooms.  I didn't even notice them in the "before" shots and now they are a great feature.

Posted by Diana Young (Staging Seattle, King & Snohomish Counties) over 2 years ago

Diana ~ I thought the same thing too when I saw this home.  The beautiful hardwood floors were hidden under area rugs and too much furniture.   Now they're a main selling feature!

Maureen-Awesome changes that make a HUGE difference.  THe house looks so much cleaner and the wood floors really show off. I bet it sells fast.

Maureen - great call on getting them to switch to a Queen bed. The King totally overwhelmed the room, plus as you noted and corrected, the placement was all wrong. Another fine example of the essential service that a professional stager provides!

Michele ~ I love it when sellers are so receptive to our suggestions -- their hard work always pays off.  Thanks for stopping by.

Kathy ~ The bedroom looked tiny with the King bed but the Queen size fit there nicely!

Maureen - you should be on a tv show.  Your transformations are simply stunning.

Congratulations. Your home staging is being featured in the group Staging Before & After Pictures.

Hi Maureen.....It seems to be a trend....downsizing from King beds to Queen size.  It DOES make a difference in how large a room appears.  The family room change looks like a huge undertaking!  Nice work in lightening up that room!

Maureen, another great example of how to make it happen! (Now I just have to find those sellers.)

Posted by Ginger Foust-Home Stager Oakhurst CA, Dream Interior Redesign & Staging (Certified Staging Professional) over 2 years ago

Kathleen ~ As more of us downsize the need for King beds seems to be diminishing.  These sellers did all the work -- I just gave them a plan of action.

Ginger ~ Sellers need our advice since they don't usually have the ability to envision their own space differently.  Thanks for stopping by.

Wow Maureen, kudos to you and the sellers! You gave them a comprehensive action plan and they went to work! The home looks more spacious and bright.

Barbara ~ after the homeowners staged this house using my advice -- it now feels like you can breathe as you walk through the rooms.  Buyers will love the more spacious feeling!

Perfect example of how Staging doesn't have to break the bank! If sellers are willing to hire a Stager and to invest some time and elbow grease they can dramatically reduce their time on the market. Great work!

Annie ~ Time and hard work can go a long way once you're had a professional stager's advice!  The fact that this home sold in just 10 days proves that it works.
