Update: This Hillsboro Oregon Seller rec'd 3 offers within 10 days of Home Staging ~ and accepted one for over asking price!
Our Portland-based home staging company was recently hired to stage a lovely home in nearby Hillsboro Oregon. Although this home was built in 2003, the furnishings that the sellers left behind when they moved out were making the home look a bit older. By adding some color for "punch" and updated accessories, this home now shows as move-in ready for the target buyers, a young professional couple.
Our staging service includes providing quick & cost-effective cosmetic fixes that the seller can do before we arrive to do the final staging. See if you can spot a few changes between the Before & After Photos ...

Sometimes a strong paint color scheme can put buyers off -- as seen in the dining area below ...

This main floor bedroom will make a perfect office space, but buyers need to "see" it ...

And the master bedroom below was empty ... so we staged it to show buyers a peaceful retreat ...

Whether your property or listing is older, vintage, newer, or somewhere in between, professional home staging can make it inviting and appealing to the target buyers. Great home stagers throughout the US and Canada can be found right here on Active Rain! (Photos by Room Solutions Staging)

Great job on staging!
Thank you for sharing this. It is always interesting to see what occurs when you pay attention to details.
Sellers should recognize the value of staging though most don't want to spend a penny to stage, not many in my area anyway. I will share this blog with my sellers in need of staging as maybe coming from another professional, they will understand.
Nice job, Maureen! Are those the same sofas with slipcovers? I like your selection of colors.
These are all pretty inexpensive changes but what a difference.
All your pictures look amazing (as always)!!! I really like the red accent pillows in the living room and how you also selected pictures to bring the colors all together. Everything looks so nicely put together.
Hi Heather ~ we love feedback from Realtors such as yourself!
Hi Ellen ~ they say the devil's in the details, and that is so true in staging!
hi Michele ~ In this case, the listing agent paid for the staging and we were able to work within her budget. I hope that your sellers will see the value in making their properties as warm and inviting as possible.
Hi Kulli ~ you have a good eye -- yes those are slipcovers that we used over the dated floral sofas ... works well on a budget. Just removing some of the more dated items that were in the living room made a big difference. The listing agent told me that another Realtor & her buyer clients came to the Open House and thought it was a model home :-)
Hi Kate ~ very kind of you to stop by and say so -- thank you!
Simply beautiful and so much younger, even with the owners traditional furnishings. I need to know more about those slipcovers on the sofas, they look custom. Love the new angle of the dining table too! Email coming your way.
LOVE-love-LOVE the living room! "SOLD!" =)
Maureen - Beautiful staging. I see more than a "few" changes and they are all fabulous!
Wow! What a difference. Those are some impressive before and after photos.
Hi Maureen - What a dramatic transformation! Now the house is ready for buyers. Great example of what some good staging can do for a listing.
Hi Ginger ~ Slipcovers can be a godsend when you need them! I think the dining table is much more interesting at an angle, too -- thanks for confirming that.
Hi Connie ~ I LOVE your enthusiasm -- thanks!
Hi Shelley ~ The little changes all add up, don't they?
Hi Joel ~ Glad to hear that you like the photos -- thanks for your feedback.
Hi Diana ~ Making it ready for buyers is our goal. It's fun when you see a big difference isn't it?
Very nice work Maureen
Isn't it amazing what some accessories and a little paint...and time/vision can accomplish!! Looks Amazing!
hi Milan ~ Thank you for commenting.
Hi Kathy ~ Just a few needed items and being able to see the vision = instant buyer appeal. Thanks!
Maureen- As always a great transformation! Love the splashes of red in the living room!
Hi Michelle ~ Thanks -- red is my go-to color when we want in inject energy into a room.
Wow! What a difference. I love the touches of red. Really makes the room pop online. You did a great job.
Love the red in the living room........ lot's and lot's of energy!!!!!!!! You really brought out the emotions in these rooms!
Morning Maureen, that's whole big bowl of classy staging you've got there! What slip cover did you use in the L/R? Nice!
Hi Wanda ~ There's nothing like red to wake you up!
Hi Randy ~ Thanks, glad you liked it!
Hi Cyn ~ Those are Surefit covers, the stretchy kind .... helped to update those sofas in 5 minutes.
Maureen, another spectacular example of the value of home staging. I am sure that the owners were amazed at their new/old house!
hi Kathy ~ Thank you -- the homeowners took care of the "To Do" list we gave them, and were very pleased with the results. The team effort paid off!
Very impressive staging Maureen! Like so many others have commented here, the LR is SO MUCH BETTER! I'm usually not a big fan of slip covers and avoid them unless absolutely necessary. I'll be more open to them now that I've seen them used in your work.
You'd never guess those dated couches are hiding beneath those slip covers. Great example of working with the owners furnishings and showing what staging can do for a property.
Hi Debra ~ Usually slipcovers are my least favorite option, but for cost-effective staging the Surefit stretchy ones can provide an updated look very easily ... add some throw pillows and you're done.
Hi David ~ I love the challenge of taking the seller's furnishings and working with them! Thanks for your endorsement.
Professional Staging at its best! Can you come here to Columbus??? lol
Hi Sam ~ Thanks very much! I'd be delighted to ... but it's a long commute :-)
I haven't really used much red when I stage, but after seeing your photos, I'm now sold on red!
hi Peggy ~ I'm so glad that these photos convinced you that red is a great accent to use in staging!
Maureen ~ Beautiful jon on this transformation in Hillsboro Oregon. So many people can not imagine especially in vacant rooms.
Hello Maureen,
What a beautiful job on staging! The room transformations are awesome. Thank you for sharing the before & after photos.
Rita
Hi Maureen, no question, it can. You have shown again what professional staging can do to create magic.
Adding all the pillows really distracts from the fact slipcovers were even used. Great job! I love how the use of accessories camouflages the dated tables...they really stand out in the before and are not even noticeable in the after. Great use of color throughout the home.
hi Rita ~ You are welcome -- thanks for taking the time to comment.
Hi Barbara ~ we stagers love creating magic!
Hi Sharon ~ The pillows were a planned distraction, and they help. Glad you noticed the table accents too!)
Your home staging is absolutely beautiful. Each room went thru such an incredible transformation!! Another home run, Maureen.
Congratulations. Your home staging is being featured in the group Staging Before and After Pictures.
Kathy
Nice work!!
Ella
WOW!!!! Point well made.
Hi Kathy ~ Thanks so much for your kind remarks and for featuring my work in the Staging Before and After group!
Hi Ella and B ~ Glad that you enjoyed the photos.
Maureen,
Great job. Since I am not a profesional stager, but I know the difference that it can do on a sale I am going to reblog this one.
Thanks,
Tere
Hi Tere ~ It's great to have another professional Realtor here on A/R recognize the benefits that staging offers to sellers. Thanks very much for reblogging this post!
Beautiful staging with a great result. Congrats!
Maureen,
Your company did a perfect job of staging this house! You are talented!
Hi Debra ~ The results are the best part -- we love it when our clients sell their homes this quickly :-)
Hi Honey ~ Thanks so much for such a nice compliment -- that is really appreciated!
Maureen, I love everything you did and there are more than a few changes! It is amazing that staging can make a room come alive with function and purpose like the home office. Great job!
Maureen, I missed this post when it originally ran, but I got to see the reblog and you deserve the comments. Beautiful job.
Great staging and improved photography. Sterile to warm, empty to enjoyable, very nicely done and well displayed. A+
Hi Bev ~ thanks for the reblog. This house was really fun to transform!
Hi Dan ~ Wow I love getting a good grade like that -- Thank you! :-) I saw in your profile that your wife does some staging so it's great to know that you endorse the benefits that staging can bring to the seller and their agent.
