How to Stage an Entertainer's Kitchen in Portland OR
This week our company had the pleasure of staging a gorgeous 6600 sq ft new custom home in the Dunthorpe neighborhood of Portland Oregon. The kitchen in this home is a chef's dream ~ professional appliances, lots of space, fabulous materials and a great layout, etc. Since the price of this home is at the higher end, we wanted to show buyers that this kitchen would be a fantastic place to entertain your family and friends.
Just a few kitchen vignettes gave the impression we wanted ... I'm ready to make an offer (that is, if I'm lucky enough to win the lottery :-) Here's the overall photo of the kitchen, followed by the vignettes we set up

When you're preparing your home to sell, remember who your target buyer is ... and stage accordingly. Call in your local professional home stager to advise on what your home needs to make sure it's appealing to your potential buyers.
OK! Now I'm ready for that glass of wine, some nice vegetables, finished off with chocolate cake ... how about you?

I LOVE all your vignettes, Maureen. I rarely post vignette photos, but your post has inspired me. I'm particularly fond of the one with the wine boxes and bottles.
Very nice.
Really perfects the already beautiful kitchen.
Good work.
OK it worked.....I'm hungry now!! It really looks GREAT....love the Island items!!
Jus lovely Maureen! Looks like a page out of a magazine.
Hi Michelle ~ Thanks, I was quite happy with the wine vignette .. it was fun to put together.
Hi Ralph ~ What a beautiful kitchen ... thanks for your feedback.
Hi Kathy ~ OK, run to your kitchen and grab something yummy!
Hi Karen ~ Thanks for that nice compliment, it's much appreciated.
Hi Maureen...I love the veggies and also the one with the "chocolate" book. The kitchen is certainly beautiful and the touches your company provided made it a stand-out.
Kate
Maureen,
Just beautiful! I can see a GREAT party taking place here...YOU definitely achieved what you set out to accomplish. BRAVO!
Now I want some chocolate! Very nice work and what a gorgeous kitchen! WOW!!!
Maureen, what an enormous kitchen! I love all the vignettes - it must have been nice to have the space to "play". My favourite is also the wine vignette - is that a silver wine bucket, full of wine corks?!! Love it!
Love the veggie vignette, I was just about to look for some more veggies for a house I'm doing Monday. I love it when they look so realistic. I had teeth prints in a lemon once, guess they were surprised!
Hi Kate ~ The veggies are fake of course, but the loaf of bread and the pasta are real. That chocolate bible has some great photos in it that are way too tempting!
Hi Michelle ~ This kitchen really is spectacular ... overlooks an amazing forest of old-growth trees that happens to be a State park. I would love to throw a party there! Thanks for your feedback.
Hi Cathy ~ If you have about $2 million this home can be yours!
Hi Sally ~ Yes, it was a lot of fun to do these vignettes with more space than I usually have to work with. That small silver wine bucket is perfect for holding corks and adds to the overall theme.
Hi Cindy ~ Yikes I can't imagine someone biting into a lemon! Sometimes I do fruit baskets but lately I've been enjoying working with vegetables, pasta, and bread (I use real french bread and just let it harden).
Maureen - I love what you did with this kitchen and I especially love the wine vignette. I may have to borrow that idea :)
Hi Maureen -- When something looks so natural, so fitting, so relevant, that is the true sign of a competent professional. Your vignettes complement, accentuate and highlight this exceptional kitchen! To me, vignettes are harder to really do well.
Hi Wanda ~ Feel free, hope it works for your staged kitchens.
Hi Chris ~ Thanks so much for your very nice compliment! It was fun to plan and complete those vignettes in such a spectacular home.
Maureen,
Your vignettes are really great! Another wonderful staging!! Your work is truly inspirational.
Hi Nancy ~ I'm also inspired by many stagers' work here on A/R. It's great that we can share ideas through this resource!
Wow! Love your vignettes and the stunning kitchen Maureen!
Maureen - I always love seeing your photos. You have wonderful style and always take such beautiful vignette shots. Would you mind sharing where you purchased the "faux" vegetables? I need to update mine - I'm getting tired of apples and pears. :)
Maureen, I'm GREEN, can you see it. Great vignettes and everything else to go with them!!
Hi Michele ~ Thanks, it was fun to use some creative energy!
Hi Lynn ~ Many thanks! Let's see, I bought them at several places (Crate & Barrel, Michael's, and Real Deals). I'm sure there are other great sources ... anyone else care to add to the list?
Hi Ginger ~ I'll be doing another post on the rest of this home ... it's truly stunning and in the most beautiful setting :-)
I just knew that when I saw you unpack those wine cases that you had a wonderful and clever idea in mind. Your photos are beautiful! When a kitchen is a huge as this one is, it is really hard for one photo to capture everything going on in the room. The vignette photography is a great way to showcase your work.
Hi Kathy ~ Ha Ha you knew I was up to something! :-) Thank YOU for all your help with this amazing home ... I'll be doing another post or two on it soon (I have to run down there and retake a few photos).
Wow Maureen what a fabulous kitchen...I love absolutely everything and I think I'm going to have to go out and get that Chocolate Bible!!!
Thanks Cari ~ I like the looks of that Chocolate Bible too -- and as soon as this home's staging is removed, I plan to take a closer look at it :-)
It's so much fun to work in one of the dream kitchen's. Your creativity was able to shine here. Good work!
It's true David ~ it's lot of fun to stage a kitchen like this one :-)
