UPDATE: This home received a full price offer only 14 days after staging & listing! This 1984 vacant contemporary in Portland, OR was meticulously remodeled and the owners knew that staging it would help define the spaces. With an open floor plan, buyers are sometimes challenged in figuring out how to use the space. In this house, that was especially true in the living & dining spaces, and another space adjoining the kitchen.
Here's a view of the LIVING ROOM before it was staged by Room Solutions Staging:

This view from the upper level shows the size of the Living-Dining space (& the interesting angles we had to work with):
This space off the kitchen may have confused buyers when it was vacant:

Christina ~ Thank you for your kind words....have you checked here on A/R for a stager in your area? I'll bet you could find a great local stager who'd love to work with you and your clients.....
Melissa ~ You're most welcome -- thank YOU for your comment.
Now Maureen, this is just fabulous! I love the layers and textures. What did you do in the bedroom? You have the most marvelous collection of ironwork - this round thing is almost as tremendous as that iron triangular piece you used as headboard not so long ago. Where do you source those from? They have great style while being totally neutral, in terms of style and color.
purpurea - a dazed state where everything looks purple, thought to be brought on by an excess of cheap perfume
Hi Juliet ~ thank you for your kind compliment. I'll post a bedroom pic below. The round iron piece is from Home Goods ($20 on sale) This is the first staging I've used it in and it makes a big statement in the living area which has a VERY high vaulted ceiling. The other piece you saw previously in my mock-English-Tudor home was from JCPenney.com, on sale for $49.
Since you asked, here's the Master Bedroom (I tried to let the view speak for itself & kept the staging low key):
Maureen-
As always, it's an honor to be affiliated with you! You did a fantastic job and I'm sure this will go fast! Keep up the great work!

Maureen, when buyers are trying to imagine putting their furniture in a contemporary home, they truly have to think outside the box, because there IS no box! There are no walls to deliniate the dining from the living areas, etc and that confuses some buyers.
Your staging & photographs are excellent, kudos!
Just a small suggestion though, why not add Portland, OR to your blog title and add this to a Portland group? Also, your blogs should all be visible to the public so they can find you!
Kathy ~ thanks for your comment....yes that area was a real concern to the sellers, since it has an uneven layout due to different sized walls on either side. We tried several configurations and decided on the final one, which seems to work.
Terry ~ Thanks very much ~ Nice to hear from you again! (I'm keeping my fingers crossed for good news on your "portable furniture" trial!)
Sue ~ Many thanks for your comment and for your excellent suggestions. I've posted this (and other previous blogs) to Localism and changed them to Public view. I didn't realize the benefit of doing that until you pointed it out, so thanks again!
Fabulous! :D I love the round piece you use in the living room. They are different from regular art work but they just look great as a statement on its own.
Cheers,
Cindy
Cindy ~ Hey, that round iron piece was a bargain at Home Goods ($20 on sale!). You're right, it really does make a statement. Thanks for your comments!
Judy ~ Could I say that great minds think alike? :-) All those angles were challenging, and we tried several different configurations, but when we hit on that one, we knew it was "just right." Funny how that works, isn't it? Thanks for stopping.
Maureen - Not sure how I missed this blog.
What a wonderful job you did! Congratulations. Your post is being featured in the group Staging Before & After Pictures!
Well deserved!
Kathy
Kathy ~ Thanks so much for the feature and for your kind words!
CoCo ~ This was a FUN house to stage, and your comment is very much appreciated...thank you!
Really great work Maureen! Those types of homes can be challenging...you really defined the spaces well. Love it!!!!
Great work...I think it is critical to stage open floor plans!
Ann ~ Thank you for stopping by, I appreciate your comment!
Jo ~ Thanks! You're right, if those open plan spaces aren't staged, buyers get confused and don't know what to put where. Staging makes it clear that the space works doesn't it?
