Homeowner says "How’s that for fast work …the staging definitely made this possible!"
The other day I received an email from one of my homeowner clients that her staged home has sold in 28 days and she added, "How’s that for fast work … the staging definitely made this possible!"
This lovely Beaverton Oregon home sits at the top of a hilltop neighborhood with beautiful views, but it had a challenge at the entry. Usually you expect to see 1 or 2 stairways near the entry, but this home had 4 visible stairways! The smart seller knew that proper home staging would show buyers the function of each area and answer the question "how can I best use this space?" When the sellers moved out, they left behind their dining set and family room sofa, but needed furniture, accessories and art throughout the rest of the home's main impact areas to create an inviting and warm environment.
Our Portland home staging company loves working with challenging spaces! Here are some Before & After photos to show what we did ...
Here was one view from the entry ...

Now, buyers can see this first space as a comfortable seating area.
The stairs just beyond lead to the dining room where we added accessories to the dining set they left behind:

The empty family room didn't give buyers ideas on how to make the space work, so we showed them:

In the kitchen it's important to show another eating area:

Finally, this main floor room was being used as a storage area, so we staged it simply as an office:

If you show buyers the possibilities, and stage each area to highlight the home's features, be ready for a quicker sale! Contact your local home staging professional to help prepare your home for the market -- you'll be happy with your Return On Investment. ~ Photos by Room Solutions Staging ~

Oh wow, you did an amazing job and I'm sure it will make a dramatic difference just as the pictures do. One of my associates has her staging designation does this too when the property needs it. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Drick! Glad you enjoyed the photos. Glad to hear that your Realtor colleague is a staging proponent, too.
Maureen.....Smart sellers for finding and hiring the right stager!!! Place looks amazing and not suprised it sold so quickly!! Congrats!
Hi Kathy ~ selling in under 30 days is our goal! Thanks for always stopping by and being such a great commenter :-)
Maureen - This looks like the "stairway(s) to heaven" now! How confusing this must have seemed to buyers before you solved the puzzle with appropriate furniture and beautiful artwork and accessories. Congrats on the speedy sale!
Hi Sally ~ Thanks! Before the house was staged, it was confusing to see 4 stairways from the entry. But after, with other things to look at and defined spaces, it wasn't an issue. And the buyers obviously didn't think so either :-)
Maureen, another example of your great work and results. I reposted this locally as well to share.
Maureen - this is great work. Wow, 28 days. What a difference staging can make. Super job and super picts.
Maureen, I can just hear the potential buyers when they walked into this house before your wonderful staging..."what is THIS space?? How would we use this space??" You clearly defined each space and made it beautiful. Congratulations on your ongoing success!
Hi Barb ~ thanks so much for reblogging my post and for your kind words.
Hi Debbie ~ a sale in 28 days is something to celebrate :-)
Hi Ginger ~ Thanks very much. The 4 stairways at the entry were puzzling even for me. Staging definitely made it easier for buyers to see how to use the space.
Maureen--In the first photo of the seating area there is no way any buyer could figure out what to do with that space. I love the way you made the rooms and all those stairways just flow. As always, beautiful staging.
Hi Janet ~ having a good flow from room to room is one of our goals when staging a home -- I'm glad to hear that you like the outcome -- thanks so much!
Maureen, your staging is incredible! No wonder it sold in 28 days!
Hi Beverly ~ THANK YOU for your nice feedback on the staging -- I really appreciate your enthusiasm!
Another sucess story and beautiful staging! I don't know how you get them all done, you must never sleep!!
Hi Cindy ~ Thanks LOL -- I do sleep occasionally! But like you, I think it's important to get the job done well and sometimes that means staying as long as it takes :-)
Maureen - I applaud you. There were several potentially-confusing-areas within that home that you successfully dealt with. That's the very reason it sold as quickly as it did. Vacant homes are tough to sell. Vacant homes with challenging layouts are even tougher. Great job.
Congratulations. Your home staging is being featured in the group Staging Before and After Pictures.
Kathy
Thank you Kathy ~ it's always an honor to be included in your Staging Before and After Pictures features!
Maureen: I see you got featured in a Staging Group - congrats! The work you've done is beautiful....
Hi Ellen ~ It's nice to be featured, but even better to help my clients with a quick sale :-) Thanks very much for your support!
Maureen, that house was one of the most confusing floorplans that I have seen in a long time. I can only imagine how difficult it would be for a buyer to try to figure out. Your staging took all of the guesswork out of the equation. Great job!
Hi Kathy ~ LOL you are too funny. Thank you for your help with this project!! :-)
I LOVE how you managed those stairways into productive, functional features of the home!
Thanks, Karen! A challenge is what makes our jobs interesting, isn't it?
I have to admit that even I would have found this space challenging. You did a fantastic job!
Maureen - I don't know how I missed this! Once again you've outdone yourself and this home looks spectacular. I love all the furniture choices and layout and how you opened up the space while still keeping it warm and inviting. The living room is especially gorgeous - love the color scheme! You are one talented stager - the best!
Hi Sharon ~ Thanks -- I never shy away from a challenge!
Hi Kristine ~ You are too kind, and I appreciate it! The seller just called me again today and told me once again that the staging helped the house sell so quickly -- love it when we hear that!
Congratulations un your fabulous work! Excellent work indeed!
Just beautiful - your staging of these spaces really made them work!
Maureen- don't know how I missed this! You did an amazing job for rooms that certainly would have presented a challenge to buyers considering the home. I especially love what you did with the room that you saw from the entry.
Maureen: I suggested this for a Feature. Why? First ... the before and after pics. You almost don't even need the words of the post to get the message. They tell the story on their own. But secondly, the speed in which you helped promote the sale of this property is worthy of a Feature. It proves beyond a shadow of a doubt the power of having your property staged. How worthy the effort is. Nothing speaks louder than success ... and this post shouts it. Congratulations on yet another job well done.
Gene
Hi Will ~ Thank you!
Hi Alison ~ I really appreciate your feedback -- we love hearing from Realtors!
Hi Kathy ~ I was destaging this home today and once again noticed how that space needed furniture to "show" the buyer how it might be used.
Hi Gene ~ Thank you SO much for your support! It was very satisfying to help the sellers with a faster sale -- and they acknowledged that the staging helped. You're right that Before & After photos really can "tell" the story.
Hi Maureen, what a great staging job! It always amazes me the difference between the before and afters. A well staged home in a well priced home is the perfect combination to making a sold home! Nice work!
Hi Cindy ~ I'm glad to hear that you believe in the value of staging in a home that's priced right. That's a winning combination that's hard to beat!
