I recently staged a beautifully updated 1927 Craftsman bungalow for a repeat Investor client of mine in Portland Oregon. As soon as I complete a home staging project like this one, I can't wait to compare the "Before" photos to the "Afters." I guess you could say that seeing my client's postiive reaction and then the transformation in the photos is what I live for ~ it doesn't take much to make me happy! How do you feel when you finish a staging project?

The previous 3 homes that I staged for this client all sold within 30 days ~ so fingers are crossed for another success!

Ardell ~ Thank you very much! I hope it will help convince your agents to contact an experienced stager in their area for their future vacant listings.
Beautiful transformation, I like your style - simple, effective... just right.
I noticed your wall hanging over the bed... is that from Pier One? I found similar square place mats at Pier One recently that we used as wall hangings (and I saw a piece just like yours there too). This made a large focal point for very little $$$ - so if you like that look, you should check out your local store and see if they still have them.
Julianna ~ Gee, maybe I should pour myself a glass of wine then? Thanks for stopping by!
Ed ~ Thank you for your very kind remarks. We all learn so much from each other here on A/R, don't we? I see you're a fellow Northwesterner -- OK, so we've had enough snow now, haven't we?
What lovely transformations you create! I'm a Realtor who has used a stager for my recent listings...on the listing appointment I explain this to the seller and _tell_ them what a great job my stager does, but from now on I'm going to take Before and After photos so that I can _show_ them! Thanks for the idea. Cheers, Harley
Really wonderful before and after photos....because you did a wonderful job! The photos show how well your staging has warmed up the rooms, vacant rooms tend to look cold, and unappealing to most buyers.
Nice work Maureen, and thanks to ARDELL for sending your post to her agents...so I got to see this!
You did a beautiful transition. This goes so far in selling a home!
Here is what painters and a local staging company worked on all last week for clients who moved out of town. This was fun but time-consuming; coordinating everything for an office tour was fast-paced and to the last minute.
hi Lisa ~ How are things in Salem? The flat screen is from Props by IDM. Although it's plastic, it looks fine for staging purposes. Thanks for stopping by!
Taunya ~ Your listing looks fabulous! Those ceilings must be pretty high with all that scaffolding. Your stager did an excellent job ~ Good luck with the office tour! Thank you for stopping by and commenting.
Cindy ~ Thanks for your comment. Those oversize vintage framed prints are great for anchoring a space. In this case, I needed to create another focal point in the room to avoid a "titanic" effect and it did the trick. Be sure to use a heavy duty screw or 2 Hercules Hooks when you hang yours -- they're quite heavy.
Maureen:
How fun to do a craftsmen style...yes, I feel the same as you when I'm done. Love to compare the before and afters...Another thing a photo does for me is help me see any area I need to tweak! It's amazing what you can see in a picture that you sometimes miss with the naked eye!
Beautiful job.
Maureen - I am not surprised your client keeps using you:) Your statistics are great as is your staging!
Stephanie
Karen ~ Workng on homes with character is much easier, isn't it? I love your use of the word enchantment....thank you so much!
Bevin ~ Thanks for your nice comment. Yes, we're like first graders coming home with our day's work -- great analogy!
Kathy ~ This repeat client is my very favorite. He's an incredibly talented young man with integrity to match. All of his projects are done with careful attention to detail and thought for his buyers. Wish they could all be like him! Thanks for stopping and commenting.
Carole ~ Thank you for your kind remarks, they're much appreciated. My client did such a beautiful job with the renovations and transformed it from plain to beautiful.
Stephanie ~ Well, we're both hoping for another quick sale! You never know in today's market, but so far his staged properties all sold in less than a month. He's begun work on his 5th project so I'm looking forward to that one next. Thanks for stopping by!
Maureen- Craftsman Bungalos have to be my favorite, because you can do so much with them. It sounds like you have a terrific client and it's very obvious why he hires you! Great job.
Jackie
Carrie ~ Many thanks for your kind words. I hope your prediction is going to come true!
Jackie ~ Aren't Craftsman Bungalows versatile? I would LOVE to see some of your Bungalow Afters. Please write a post and share photos with us! Thanks for stopping by.
Maureen, Beautiful space, Beautifully done! For me even before we are finished with the staging the exhilaration and pride take over and I can't wait for the homeowner or in many cases builders to come in for the reveal. We did a 1.3million dollar craftsman duplex that took us two days to complete and we only staged one side, and yes each side was priced at 1.3! It has to have been one of my most favourite ones but needless to say I slept in the next day!
Cheers, Emily, Celebrate Staging, Vancouver, BC
Maureen - It's my most favorite part of the job! I'm so anxious to have them see it that I'm typically on pins and needles waiting. Great question, great blog and most importantly - great staging.
Congratulations. Your post is being featured within the group Staging Before & After Pictures.
Kathy
Kathy ~ I see we have the same feeling while we're waiting for the client's reaction. It's like a high, isn't it? By the way, earning a feature from you is like a high as well ~ thank you!
Fernando ~ Thank you for your kind compliment, it's much appreciated.
The house looks great Maureen!
Makes me miss my old Craftsman. It was a 1&1/2 downtown Toronto.
Wow,
What can I say? but FABULOUS!! Stunning and Amazing Transformation.
Kim ~ Thanks, it was a fun staging project.
Dane ~ Thank you! Aren't they (Craftsman) great with all their character? I had one myself and I miss it too.
Wayne ~ Fingers crossed for a quick sale ... you know how it is, that first month you're just waiting for the good news. Thanks for stopping by!
Debbie ~ Your kind words are appeciiated. Makes it all that much more worthwhile! P.S. I love your tag line about wrinkles!
Christopher ~ Thanks for commenting. Agents who realize the power of staging usually have faster sales and/or higher offers. We stage both vacant and occupied homes (this one was vacant). We rent the furnishings to the client for a reasonable monthly cost.
What a dramatic before & after! Thanks so much for sharing. It's always encouraging to see truly miraculous before & afters! I share your elation!
All the best,
Audrey

Audrey ~ Elation is a good description of our emotional state when we finish a project. Thanks for stopping by.
Chelle ~ Thanks for your good wishes!
Elaine ~ The bedroom had a tight fit for the queen bed and 2 nightstands, but hopefully the potential buyer will see that it works. Thanks for commenting!
Karen ~ I guess there's a first time for everything....the feature is a very nice surprise! Thanks for telling me about it!
I love this type of home Maureen. I haven't read the other comments but I feel like I've almost given birth to a baby when I'm finished staging. I like to linger over each one and contemplate the outcome. I always have a hopeful feeling that it will sell quickly.
I love what you did!
Christy ~ Glad to hear that you enjoy reading staging posts here on A/R! I hope that you know some good stagers in your area ~ they make great allies for agents. Thanks for commenting!
Karen ~ I love your analogy ... it truly IS like giving birth when we finish a home staging project, but I'd never thought of it that way. Thank you for taking time to comment.
Kathy ~ Ha ha ~ I'm with you on wanting Tylenol after staging! We staged another vacant yesterday and when we stopped afterwards for a bite to eat, I noticed my muscles complaining. Many thanks for your kind words.
Eileen ~ Thanks for stopping by. I wish you had a stager too! I guess you already checked here on A/R to see if any stagers serve your area? Have you considered the possibility of e-staging to help your clients?
Libby ~ I'd like to live here too ... my client did such a beautiful job renovating this home. Here's a photo of the gorgeous new kitchen. Makes me want to cook! Many thanks for your nice comments. I see you're a fellow Northwesterner!
Very good job, I really like the look of the kitchen.
Thanks for sharing
Kevin ~ What nice thing to say, thank you very much! (my brother's name is Kevin, so Kevins are #1 in my book!)
Chris ~ Thanks for stopping by and commenting. I love that kitchen too.
Maureen- haha, I wish! McMansions, Colonials, Capes and Splits for me. I know there must be pockets of them around here somewhere, but I've not seen them. The last time I was inside a Bungalow was in Austin.
Congrats on the FEATURE!
Jackie
Joseph ~ Thanks for stopping by and I'm glad to hear that you're picking up some staging ideas....good luck!
Jackie ~ It sounds like you have a great variety of home styles to stage in Massachusetts so your versatility comes in handy!
Debbie ~ Thank you for your kind remarks. I can't take all the credit though as my client is a very talented young man.
Terrylynn ~ You're right, we always do the best we can with what's there. That made this staging easy since the home was so nicely remodeled.
Janis ~ Thanks, those built-ins are charming and sometimes a bit challening to stage. You don't want to add too much or not enough.
Boootiful. I think this style is such fun. Though, having just done one, I found a lot of my more eclectic, "generic" stuff didn't work. Do you find you need specifically linear things to match the mission look?
Juliet
Maureen,
You did an outstanding job. Great ambiance. Care to share on the great choice of paint colors? They're great!
Theo
Maureen,
Don't you love staging bungalows? You've managed to make it look cozy and crisp at the same time. Great job!
Susan,
Bungalows are such a neat style to work with, yes! I miss the 1924 Craftsman bungalow I sold almost 2 years ago and may look for another one later this year. Thanks for stopping by.
