This is one of the nicest bungalows we've staged ~ the seller did a great job updating this vintage Craftsman while maintaining its original charm. The home is three floors and 2,850 sq ft, 4 bedrooms & 3 baths. We staged it with the target buyer in mind ~ a young family who wants to live in this desirable neighborhood close to one of Portland's nicest parks. Here are a few Before & Afters:

Before you put your home ~ or your listing ~ on the market, make sure that it's staged by a professional home stager! You can find them right here on Active Rain. An experienced stager can ensure that your property is staged to appeal to its target buyer and will work within your budget.
For those interested in the paint colors: Living Room is Asian Jute; Dining Room is Danish Pine -- both colors are part of the Historic Collection at Miller Paint Company.

Maureen,
Your photos of this home are beautiful. What a lovely home, the client did a stellar job with the renovations.
That is some phenomenal staging! I am truly impressed!
Trish ~ THANK YOU! Yes, this seller is very talented and made all the right choices when deciding what to renovate. Working with him was a pleasure.
Carol ~ Many thanks for your kind remarks. Coming from a realtor it means a lot! I hope you've partnered with a home stager in your area too.
Really, really beautiful. In particular, the choice of true craftsman colors. Also, you did not "over stage". When selling Craftsman, it is impt not to put too many fabrics & furniture. You are selling hardwood and detail! that must be seen.
The furnishings are a good choice - allowing the house to appeal to a wide range of buyers, not just crafstman afficionados.
Overall great job!!!
Good job....we have recently done staging for 2 homes...one sold the first day on the market for over asking...the other has 2 second showings after a week...the difference is in the details...EVEN our sellers...all male rehabbers...notice and appreciate the difference !
Very very nice,I want to buy it!!
Maureen ~ It looks beautiful! I love the windows and built-ins, and the way they look against the new paint color. The kitchen looks fantastic, both the homeowner's updates and your touches really came together nicely.
Wow, Maureen! Beautiful job! Don't you love it when the sellers make all the right choices? Makes our job so much easier, and more fun. Continued success to you.
I love the renovations and staging! This house has great architectural details. I want that kitchen!!!
You did a fabulous job! I just love that Bungalow style, something we just don't have in the Lowcountry area of Hilton Head
Margaret ~ As you noted, the seller chose the historical paint colors wisely. Instead of using "Craftsman style" furnishings we selected pieces that we thought would appeal to a young professional family. Your feedback is appreciated!
Sally & David ~ You're right about the details -- they're so important. Congratulations on such excellent results with your two listings!
Nicola ~ Me too! If you saw it in person you'd feel that way even more, I promise.
Kathy ~ These bungalows have such wonderful windows and built ins to work with. Thanks for your input.
Diana ~ All good rehabbers need stagers to complete the job, YES! This seller made very good choices and was smart to realize that staging would highlight all the unique features this home has to offer.
Michelle ~ The architectural details really are great ... and some were enhanced during the renovation. Like you, I love that kitchen too!
Diane ~ These bungalows offer a simple and classic style that's hard to beat. Your area has some wonderful historical and unique styles as well. Thanks for your kind remarks.
Fantastic work by both you and the seller. The synergy that comes from such a good partnership makes this house rise far above the competition.
Maureen: Your staging really highlights the character and beauty of this home. Congratulations.
Hi Kathy ~ Thank you so much! I've worked with this seller before and each time his work is perfectly executed. I'm honored that he's chosen my staging company to partner with.
Michelle ~ Your comments are much appreciated ... I know that you stage Craftsman style homes in your area too. They just have so much character and charm that it's easy to make them shine!
You made this house look so inviting that I want to move to Portland...and I hate the rain...Great Job!
Stacey ~ That is quite a compliment, thank you! Portland is a great place to live, even with all the rain ...
Maureen -- As it has already been said, you did a wonderful job on this project! Looks so bright and sunny, how can anyone think it rains in Oregon? I especially like what you did with limited space in the master -- very inviting!
Hi Margaret ~ Rain in Oregon, really? I hadn't noticed! :-) With it's interesting angles, the master bedroom is captivating. The seller added the dormers, making it even cozier.
Maureen, Love the colors, love the kitchen, love every thing.
Wow! Very impressive staging while letting the beauty of the Craftsman show through! I doubt this home lasts long on the market!
Mana ~ Nice of you to comment ... glad you like this home.
Toni ~ Hopefully it will sell quickly -- the first broker's tour is today so we'll keep our fingers crossed. Thanks for stopping by.
The paint makes the walls pop and really helps to highlight the accents. The furniture in the bedroom nook really highlights that space.
Carolyn ~ It's true that so much can be done through paint color choices and staging to highlight the unqiue architectural features in a home. Do you work with a stager in your area?
Wow! These photos look amazing! Great job!
Gulp!!! Maureen - WOW! I love it. You did a superb job with each and every room!!
Congratulations. Your post is being featured in the group; Staging Before & After Pictures.
Kathy
I'M IN LOVE!!! Oh, how I LOVE Craftsman Bungalows!!! GORGEOUS!! What a fantastic job you've done and great photos too!!!
Courtney ~ Thanks for your feedback. Seattle has many Crafstman style bungalows too -- aren't we lucky to live in an area with such great classic homes?
Kathy ~ Thanks for your enthusiastic comment -- and the Feature. It's really appreciated.
Melissa ~ We fell in love with this house too! It really is as nice as you can imagine. Something about it is positively enchanting.
The wall colors really make the Craftsman details pop! Really like what you did with color, and a minimal amount of furniture. Hopefully this home will have a quick sale!
John ~ With a classic Crafstman like this one, we staged it to make the house the star -- not the furnishings. Thanks for your good wishes!
This place is gorgeous! How can a buyer not fall in love with it?!? Nice work, by both you and the seller.
Great job Maureen! Great photos! Do you rent out cabinet doors too?
Maureen, what can I add to all of the comments always made? Another awesome job. Love how you treated the angles in the bedroom, they might have stumped others, but not you. AND I love Wayne's comment about the cabinet doors? Do tell.
Doreen ~ I agree, how could a buyer not want to live here? Thanks for your input!
Wayne ~ That's funny :-) about the cabinet doors ... some of the Before photos were taken during the renovations ... but I do provide just about everything else one could imagine!
Ginger ~ Those angles in the bedroom are interesting, aren't they? I think they give such a cozy feeling to this room. The seller added that dormer, as well as another one in the landing area, and they really add character and charm. Thanks for your nice comments!
You really created a mood for buyers to feel and fall in love with. Very nice choice of furnishings!
Lisa ~ Many thanks for your kind remarks. Creating a mood is so important to appeal to the target buyer, don't you think? We hope they'll feel like they could move right in.
Fabulous job - just love how the warmth and the details pop in such an inviting way. I would buy it - to bad its too long of a commute!
Jennifer ~ The paint colors do make a difference and it goes to show that when selling, beige is bland ... Thanks for weighing in with your comment.
Maureen, what a great example of 'warming up' this beautiful propety so that buyers will warm up to it too! Thanks fo the photos.
Wendy Casey - Vancouver, BC
Wendy ~ Hopefully they'll warm right up to a sale before long! It's only been on the market for 2 days so we'll see what happens. Thanks for your kind comment.
Looks amazing! I love the colors on the living room and dining room walls!
Daniel ~ Thank you for commenting -- those colors are indeed warm and inviting aren't they
Fantastic job, judging by the amount of comments, it's the general consensus!
Beautifully staged and understated - and the colors that were chosen are so lovely. You make a great part of a rehabber's team, Maureen!
Cindy ~ This house has such a good "feeling" that our team loved working there.
Janis ~ Thanks for your kind comment. This client did such a wonderful job that being part of his team was a pleasure.
OMG!!!! That is so beautiful. I want to move in!!! great job.
This was so tastefully done from the finishes to the staging, excellent job Maureen!
Chrissie ~ Me too! Thanks for stopping by.
Karen ~ Our goal in staging was to highlight this home's features ... it has so much charm.
It is gorgeous. I really like the paint color you used in the dining room. What color is it?
Michelle ~ The dining room paint color is "Danish Pine" and the living room is "Asian Jute" -- both colors are part of the Historic Collection at Miller Paint Company.
Aloha Maureen,
Great stage! Love the fact you kept the original light fixture in the living room and the built-ins really stand out.
Peace,
Kimo ~ You have a very sharp eye to notice that's the original light fixture! The seller found some incredible authentic replacement bulbs for it too before we staged it.
What a completely awesome staging job... how often do you have sellers saying, "hey... we should keep this place."?
WOW! That is absolutely amazing! Thank you so much for giving us the paint colors. I wish you were a little closer to us!
Hi - I hope I am not overstepp'n, but the market is so different here in FL... I was wonder'n if you could give me a ball park budget that you were given for jus furnishings, not your fee... I totally understand if you wish not to disclose. They ljus ook so fabulous and here, we have a hard time convinc'n homeowners to go ahead and let us spend a lil extra to make it look so beautiful and classy! Thank you - it is absolutely wonderful!
Chuck ~ Sometimes we've heard that sellers wish they'd made the changes before they decided to sell! Thanks for stopping by.
Ardell ~ This home has so much natural charm that it was easy to work with. There are lots of excellent stagers in your Seattle area too -- thank you for your kind remarks.
Heather ~ I'll email you with the monthly furnishings rental -- I don't mind sharing that with you at all. It's much less than you probably think!
