Room Solutions Staging was contacted to stage a vacant Craftsman-style bungalow that was lingering on the market. The owner had moved out of state and the listing agent was concerned that the home wouldn't show well without any furniture. Staging a vacant home (even on a budget like this one) provides potential buyers with a frame of reference for their own furnishings and makes the home "feel" warmer & more inviting to viewers .... both in the online listing photos and in person ....

To ensure that your listings look inviting to potential buyers, remember to consult with a professional stager. You'll find them listed here on Active Rain for nearly every state and province.

Hi Maureen...I'm sold! Really, you did a very nice job. The home looks very inviting.
Kate
Maureen ~ It looks great! I like the last "after" picture showing the rooms all the way through to the kitchen. Is that curly willow in the corner in the living room?
Kate ~ I'm glad it looks inviting -- hope it will to buyers as well!
Kathy ~ I agree, the longer shot has a good perspective. That is curly willow (from Pier 1) in the corner behind the red chair, yes.
Thanks Maureen - that curly willow might actually solve an area that needs filling in an upcoming job I have!
Maureen - Another wonderful example of how staging entices the buyer in and shows them te possiblities of the home. On the last before/after set - the before photo certainly doesn't make me curious about the dining/kitchen areas, but seeing the after photo makes me want to see more! Great work!
Kathy ~ I hope it works out well for you -- good luck and be sure to post some photos!
Margaret ~ Thanks for your support and feedback. The vacant photos just look so cold and empty of all imagination, don't they?
What a difference to put furniture in vacants . End product: Fabulous!
Beautiful work Maureen -- I have a pear fetish going on right and am using them a lot in my staging. the home looks absolutely fab, my friend!
Fernando ~ Thanks for your postiive affirmation about the power of staging -- your enthusiasm is catching!
Karen ~ Pears are a fun accessory item and add some color to the scene .... thanks for stopping by.
Nice choice of colors and furniture style! Looks great!
Allegra ~ Thanks, the red is always reliable for breathing some life into a neutral color palette.
Maureen, how do you handle insurance on a vacant, staged home.
Janice ~ that's a great question. My business insurance covers the furnishings in staged homes and doesn't consider them "vacant" when they are actively on the market with furniture in them. All professional stagers should have this type of insurance, but sadly many do not.
It looks great, it makes the fireplace stand out more and I love Red. I also like the pears, although I can't have them in my house since my youngest bit the fake ones at my moms and ruined them!
I came over to return a comment, and cruised through your photos. I got so wrapped up, looking at your pics, i almost left without comment! So many great photos! Excellent work, nice accents, well done!
Lauren ~ when staging, we do like to highlight features like a fireplace especially in these older bungalows. Those pears at your mom's must have looked so real!!
Cheryl ~ Many thanks for your kind comments. It's so nice to hear feedback like that!
Maureen, I love your work---the placement, the color choices. You made this place feel warm and inviting (I'd want to buy the furniture!).
Carole ~ Thank you for your support and I'm glad you found the house inviting ..... hopefully buyers will feel that way too!
Maureen - The house looks really nice and it was quite a challenging space how the fireplace was so off center. Hope the sellers get a quick sale. Talk to you soon!
David ~ Yes those off-center fireplaces can be challenging can't they? Thanks for stopping by with your comment ... hope to see you guys soon.
What great colors you chose! It really livened up that space. Great work!
Annie ~ It was a budget job but it gave some life to the home. Thanks for your support!
